EEEEWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a snake my sister Melissa ran over with her PT Cruiser. It was still alive and very angry. The snake was in my parent's garage! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! It seems like I've heard a lot of snake stories in the past week because it's starting to warm up. I don't know about anyone else, but this gives me the heebie geebies.

Teach Children to Save

A couple of weeks ago I visited a first grade classroom to teach the students how to save money for things they want (a lesson that someone should teach me). It was a very interesting experience. I arrived with coloring books and piggy banks and a lengthy lesson plan. The lesson plan included an exercise about saving $20 over 10 weeks. So I asked the class to tell me something they wanted to save their money for. I was looking for a goal around $20 but instead heard goals like Wiis and XBoxes. I was shocked that noone had a $20 goal. Most of them said their parents would buy it for them. It made me appreciate Tyler's newest obsession with $5 Speed Racers.

A Potty Success

This news deserved it's own post. We've been working really hard on potty training and finally he got it! Last Saturday we went to the arch and the zoo and he stayed dry the whole time wearing a pull up. So on Sunday we let him put on his big boy underwear and braced ourselves. To our amazement he stayed dry the whole day. So for a week and a half he's been wearing underwear all day (with minimal accidents)and a pull up at night. Very exciting. It only took us 2 fish, a frog, and a whole lot of candy and stickers to make it to this point. At least we don't have to buy diapers anymore. Hooray for Tyler!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I've been neglecting my blog for the last month! We've had so much going on and the blog kind of took a back seat. Anyway, here is a quick recap of the last month.

~ Roy and I took an amazing trip to Los Angeles where we took a Warner Bros Studio tour, shopped on Rodeo Drive, and sat 5 rows from the court at a Lakers game. We were true tourists and spotted lots of celebs.

~We welcomed 2 new baby friends! Our friends Steve and Kelly welcomed their second princess Kendal Hope on April 2nd. Our friends Amanda and James had their first baby Landon Andrew on May 2nd. We can't wait to meet Landon! Exciting!

~Roy's Uncle Mario and Kelly visited from Flagstaff and we all took a trip to the top of the arch and the zoo. Hopefully we'll get to visit them someday.

~ Tyler strated going to a babysitter 2 days a week to get some social
interaction. He loves it.

~ My Pampered Chef career is taking off! I've had 5 shows and have 6 more scheduled. Fun! Fun!

I think that's all. It seemed like there was more!

All Shook Up

Today we had 2 earthquakes. It was very exciting. The first one was at 4:37am and I (as well as my family) slept right through it. Apparently it was kind of strong (5.2) and woke people up. I do remember hearing my dog running all over the place in a half sleep mode. Anyway then at 10:15 I was complaining to my co workers that I missed the big quake and then all the sudden the floor tiles started rattling and the doors started shaking. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. It can be exciting because no one was hurt and there was very minimal damage.
